Integration: Aider
Coverage status
Section titled “Coverage status”This is a provider-harness path for Coder 0.6.32, not an MCP configuration or a claim that all Aider backends are supported. The model, upstream provider, credentials and project route must be configured explicitly.
- Install and activate Coder, then register your repository.
- Check
memstrata-coder statusandmemstrata-coder doctor. If needed, start the provider harness withmemstrata-coder start; its default address ishttp://127.0.0.1:8080. - Set Aider’s OpenAI-compatible API base to the Coder route generated for your configured provider/project. The default unscoped API base is
http://127.0.0.1:8080/v1; use the project-scoped base when setup supplies one. - Keep credentials in the approved client or OS credential vault flow. Do not put real keys in a copied shell example or committed config.
- Make one intended request and inspect Coder’s routed-request/context receipt.
See Aider’s OpenAI-compatible API documentation for its current API-base and model options. A compatible URL alone does not configure the upstream provider.
What’s captured
Section titled “What’s captured”Only requests sent through the configured harness path can be measured there. Direct provider calls bypass it. Token avoidance uses a stated counterfactual; a successful request is not proof of monetary savings or improved answer quality.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Check the harness with
curl http://127.0.0.1:8080/; Coder 0.6.32 reportsstatus: aliveand its package version. - A 401 can indicate an upstream credential problem. Inspect sanitized diagnostics instead of disabling authentication or certificate checks.
- Confirm the generated project route and selected provider/model match the intended repository.
- Do not delete indexes or launch a second harness to fix a client configuration error.
